Most of us know the Meatpacking District as the 24-hour party zone, but this weekend the focus will be on design, architecture and yes, cocktails.
Meatpacking District Design 09 is a cocktail-filled weekend event showcasing tours of new hotels, the historical neighborhood and shops. It’s an event designed to invite the public to share in what The District really has to offer: man-made beauty. There’s more here than late-night dance clubs and fancy boutiques. And there’s something for everyone; experts to architectural amateurs alike. It’s a juxtoposition of cobblestone and clean lines, if you will. Some of the tours are invitation-only, but most of it is open to the public and completely free.
