There is always something to do in NYC in the summertime. How does that song lyric go? Summertime and the living is easy? Yeah, that’s it. And it holds true this week with a bunch of free outdoor movie screenings all over the city. Good entertainment without spending a dime.

Tonight: How Green Was My Valley (1941) Oscar winner for Best Picture. At Bryant Park. Brought to you by HBO Bryant Park Summer Film Festival. 5:00 pm. View full schedule here.

Wednesday: Evil Dead 2 (1987) Almost a campy, cult classic. Say that three times fast. At McCarren Park, brought to you by The L Magazine Summerscreen Series. Website does not give showtimes. Good job guys. Assume dusk. View website here.

Wednesday: Vicky Cristina Barcelona (2008) At Hudson River Park Pier 46 at 8:30 pm. Brought to you by Hudson River Park. Adult content. View full schedule and info here.

Thursday: The Maltese Falcon (1941) At Brooklyn Bridge Park. Music starts at 6pm, movie at sunset. How romantic. View schedule and info here.
