Sources very close to me (the internet) have divulged that my aching need and desire will be fulfilled very soon. Bill Murray is reportedly reading a “very good” script entitled “Ghostbusters 3.” So many thoughts, so many thoughts are racing through my mind: Rick Moranis possessed by a phantom dog, the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man melting all over midtown and let’s not forget, electro-shock therapy for aspiring psychics. It’s been twenty years since we’ve seen these delightful characters so I’m sure you have a few questions. Like, aren’t they too old to fight the paranormal while wearing khaki jumpers? Is Slimer in it? Will Mayor Bloomberg have an ‘idiot-mayor’ cameo? I hope this is as good as the ‘sexy’ Ghostbusters costume I saw a few times on Halloween, but that will be hard to beat. But, the costume in late 2010 goes to show that the Ghostbusters franchise is not something that has been forgotten from our collective consciousness. In 2009, the franchise introduced a Ghostbusters video game, with decent reviews, which Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis provided voiceovers. Ghostbusters is a cult-classic and it’s hard to say if the new movie will be a success or a flop, but if Bill Murray is on board (we don’t know that yet) then I’ll be sure to try, in the very least, to sneak on set wearing my sexy Ghostbusters costume.
